Samba de Gafiera

samba_de_gafiera.jpgSamba de Gafieira is a partner dance completely different from International Ballroom Samba.

It appeared in the 1940s and the name is derived from the Gafieira - popular urban nightclubs of Rio de Janeiro at that time. It is the partner version of the world-renowned Brazilian dance, SAMBA. Through its unique combination of dance genres (in particular Samba, Tango & Swing) Samba de Gafieira establishes its own identity, allowing the dancer to express both grace and playfulness with intimacy and strength.
