Juan Rando
Juan is the founder and co-principal of JRDA. His vast dance background includes Ballroom, Rockabilly, Hip-Hop, Salsa, Argentine Tango along with many other styles, but since 1996 has studied Salsa and Argentine Tango intensively. Juan has also maintained an interest in other styles, including Bachata, Gafiera and West Coast Swing.
Juan has often been described as the teacher's teacher. Technique & Bio-mechanics are everything to him, which is why many of Perth's top dancers have been trained through Juan Rando. He is also, one of the most experienced teachers in the Australian Salsa & Tango community, having been teacher (not just dancing) full time since 1997.
Juan's international experience includes touring and teaching Tango and Salsa in the Late 1990s throughout Australia and Europe before settling down to build one of the biggest Salsa & Tango Studio in the country.
Juan’s passion and technical understanding of the dance styles taught
at JRDA have gained him a local and national reputation for producing
some of the finest dance technicians in the country, in both Salsa and
Tango. JRDA students have won a variety of state and national
championships, including the Australian Tango and State Salsa
Championships.
International Experience
- 1997 - 98 : Studied and taught Tango & Salsa in Miami, Florida. Assisted in the organisation of the United States Tango Congress.
- 1998 : Coaching competitive Tango couple in Houstan, Texas
- 2000 : Oslo, Norway - Workshop in Argentine Tango
- 2001 : Helsinki, Finland - Invited instructor in Tango.
- 2001 : Tallin, Estonia - Salsa Workshops (Also later in 2004)
- Invited instructor to Singapore on several occasions.
